REO built cars between 1905 and 1936 and then continued with trucks only until 1975. This car is a conversion of the Alfred Hartveit Karosserifabrikk from Bergen, Norway. The car was converted to a seven-passenger. 10 identical REO's were imported to Bergen, Norway late '27 early '28. They were all converted to Taxis by the coachbuilder Alfred Hartveit in Bergen. During the Norwegian National Exhibition in Bergen in 1928 one of these cars was exhibited and received a gold medal for "superb, tasteful work" More information / references: |
